Stray

Stray - Rachael Craw

Hi Everyone

Here is the link for my latest review.  Stray, by Rachael Craw.  What a page turner.  I enjoyed the first book and the second has not let me down.

I am reading The Girl on the Train at the moment.  It took me a while to get into, but now I am really enjoying it.  Just a shame I have exams at the moment, I know what I would rather be doing than reading study notes over and over again.

Casualty of Grace

A Casualty of Grace - Lisa Brown

Here is the link to my latest review.  Casualty of Grace, it was fantastic.  I recommend you get some tissues to read this one.

What a week!

Hi everyone

It's been quite a week here.  I have finished reading Casualty of Grace, by Lisa Brown.  Now that one left me with little else done!  What a page turner.  I will put a review up on my blog later today and place the link up for you.

Now I am reading Stray, by Rachel Craw.  She needs to get her third book out on the selves very soon, as I am nearly finished this one and don't want to wait too long to see what happens in the third book.

I finally looked into twitter and have a read learn and shine twitter page.  If you want to look me up you can follow the links to my reviews there too.  Well right now I have Stray calling me back to its pages.  Surely you have all been called back to a book with a coffee in hand :)

Happy reading

Vietnam Diary

Vietnam diary - Mark L Wilson

Their doesn't seem to be a picture to go with this book which is a shame.  It is a picture about two brothers and the effects of the Vietnam war on their relationship.  You can skip on over to my blog to read my review.  Just click on this and link.

Hope everyone is having a great day.  The sun is shining here as we are just going into spring.  We have had loads of rain and cold days up to this weekend.  But... today feels like spring.  The lawns have been mowed and I have ventured inside for a coffee.  So I thought a catch up on what has been read in my house would be worth the while.

Happy reading

today is my day off!!! mmm shopping or book? Okay it's cold.... book it is.

Logic to the Rescue

Logic to the Rescue - Kris Langman

Hi everyone click here and you will be transported to my review of this book.  My kids loved it and want more books written in the series.

Well I have had a break from studies and teaching so now I am back into it until the end of the year.  I didn't really go to sleep here, that is not why I haven't written anything.  No... I was busy reading for the first week of my holiday, then writing for the second.  Unfortunately I wasn't writing on my blog or for pleasure.  There were assignments to be completed!  There always seems to be something, even when your on holiday.  Does anyone else get this?  Or am I a workaholic :)

So relaxed...

Hi everyone,

I have a two week holiday!  I have spent the morning out exercising... yes I love exercise and healthy food.  I cant help it.  I try to relax but reality is I love moving.  That is unless I get a good book.  So this afternoon I plan on reading.  The sun is streaming through my windows and I have the couch all eyed up.  My jug is on and cup awaiting my caramel coffee sachet.  Wow that sound like bliss.

So I will write to you all later with my latest review.  Hope someone out there is joining me with a coffee and great book.

Oh boy, does this bring back memories. I used to love Graham Rawle's Lost Consonants in The Guardian, and this one has always been a favourite.

The Key to Rondo - Emily Rodda

Hi everyone

I have finally had time to finish this and it was great. I will get a review up for it tomorrow.  Right now my life has been taken over with teaching and assignments.  Anyone else out there tired of assignments?  I get it!  Tomorrow I am planning a day off so I will try to review this book for you and get reading Inkdeath, the third book in the Inkheart series. I have been longing to read Inkdeath and I am taking the plunge, It looks long so you may have to wait a while for that review.  Never fear I have more that I am reading to the kids and for studies that I will take notes on for anyone looking in.

Peter and the star catchers

Peter and the Starcatchers - Greg Call, Ridley Pearson, Dave Barry

I read this aloud to the kids and we laughed our way though it.  We loved it! Check out this link for my review

So... I am reading this because my daughter said I had to.  It is actually really quite good!  I m surprised I haven't heard more about this book.  It's not taking me long to read so I should be able to get a review of it up soon.  That is, as long as my studys don't take over!

What Learning Looks Like: Mediated Learning in Theory and Practice, K-6 - Reuven Feuerstein, Ann Lewin-Benham

I enjoyed this book.  I got a lot out of it.  It was actually good to read a theory book of my own choice and not one assigned to me or required for assignment purposes.  Now I hope that doesn't sound too strange... wanting to read a book on theory.  Well when it comes down to it, I would much rather read a novel but from time to time I enjoy being inspired to teach my students.

I will put up a link to my review and you can get an impression of why I found this book insightful.
